Agreement

By downloading or using Stamp Lens (“the app”) you agree to these terms. The app is provided by Stamp Lens (“we”). If you got the app from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If you got it from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply. Where these terms and the store’s terms conflict, the store’s terms win to the extent they require it.

Identifications and values are estimates

• Stamp Lens suggests what a stamp is by comparing your photo with our catalog. It can be wrong, especially for shades, perforation and watermark varieties, damaged stamps or stamps we don’t have in the catalog.
• Value ranges are estimates only, not an appraisal. Real prices depend on condition, variety and market. Don’t rely on the app alone to buy, sell, insure or throw away stamps. For anything that may be valuable, get an opinion from a qualified expert or a stamp society.
• The condition helper explains common factors that affect value. It is not a certificate or a grade from an expertising service.

Catalog numbers

Stamp Lens does not include numbers or values from publishers’ catalogs such as Scott, Stanley Gibbons, Michel or Yvert et Tellier. Catalog numbers you type in are yours and stay on your device. Those names are trademarks of their owners; we are not affiliated with them.

Your photos and data

Your photos and collection belong to you. When you scan, you give us permission to process the stamp crops to identify them, as described in the Privacy Policy. If you turn on Help improve recognition, you also give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use those crops to improve our recognition and catalog, for as long as the Privacy Policy says we keep them. You can turn it off at any time. Keep your own backups of anything important, for example by exporting your collection.

Free and Pro

The app is free to download with daily scan limits. Stamp Lens Pro is an optional subscription or one-time purchase sold through the App Store or Google Play and billed by Apple or Google. Prices, what Pro includes, the length of any free trial and how renewal works are shown in the app before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period. You can manage or cancel them in your Apple Account or Google Play settings. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.

Fair use

Don’t reverse engineer, resell or overload the app or its servers, use scripts to send scans, upload images that aren’t yours to share, or use the app to break the law. Pro has a generous daily fair-use limit to stop abuse; normal collectors won’t reach it. We may suspend access that breaks these rules.

Third-party content

Reference images come from public domain or openly licensed sources, credited in the app’s acknowledgements. Links to other sites (for example Colnect or StampData) are provided for convenience, and their terms apply there.

Liability

The app is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses from selling, buying, insuring or discarding stamps based on the app’s results. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be excluded.
